On Monday, January 27, 2025, we celebrated with great joy the Day of the Institute for Political Studies and Glory, Savindan, in a festive atmosphere attended by a large number of officials, associates, representatives of embassies and institutions. The festive program began with the performance of the Hymn to Saint Sava, performed by the Music Section of the Military Academy, to which we owe special gratitude for embellishing this significant day.
The opening speech was delivered by Dr. Miša Stojadinović, Director of the Institute for Political Studies, who emphasized that while celebrating Saint Sava, we are also obliged to constantly remind ourselves of what he left behind, primarily thinking of enlightenment, justice, philanthropy and patriotism, and then he referred to the work of the Institute in the past period and the establishment of the Library of the Institute for Political Studies "Živojin Đurić". The attendees were also addressed by Vukašin Grozdić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, and Prof. Dr. Viktor Kokšarov, Rector of Ural University, who presented the Icon of the Holy Family of the Romanovs to the Director of the Institute, Dr. Miša Stojadinović, as a token of gratitude for the successful cooperation. The Director of the IPS was also presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by Dr. Violeta Rašković Talović, Dean of the Faculty of International Politics and Security, for the successful scientific cooperation between our institutions.
During the ceremonial program, led by IPS research associates Andrea Matijević, MSc. and Milica Stojčić, MSc., certificates of appreciation and certificates were awarded to deserving individuals, and among the awardees were: Vukašin Grozdić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation; Tatjana Vukić, Director of the Foundation "For the Serbian People and State" (award presented to Natalija Jovanović); Music Section of the Military Academy of the University of Defense in Belgrade, whose head, Colonel Prof. Dr. Srđan Blagojević, received the Certificate of Appreciation (award presented to Vukojica Živanović); Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Rastović, Director of the Historical Institute in Belgrade; Colonel Zoran Jekić, from the National Defense School "Vojvoda Radomir Putnik".
Also, as every year, the Institute awarded the Sveta Sava Charters to the authors of the best works that contributed to the work of the journals published by the Institute. The Charter was received by: Dr. Milena Pešić, for the work "Political Discourse in the Research Perspective of His Contemporary Critical Studies", the award was presented by Dr. Miša Stojadinović, Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Serbian Political Thought"; Prof. Dr. Goran Matić, for the work "High Treason in the Criminal Legislation of the Republic of Serbia", the award was presented by Dr. Marija Đorić, Editor-in-Chief of the journal "National Security Policy"; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đorđe D. Marković, for the work "The Struggle for an Independent Judiciary in Serbia", the award was presented by Dr. Aleksandra Mirović Janković, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Politička revija"; M.Sc. Mile Obrenović, for the work "Germany's Failure to Implement the American Strategy of Expanded Deterrence of Russia", the award was presented by Dr. Milomir Stepić, editor-in-chief of the magazine "National Interest".
The Sveta Sava Charter for the best editorial work was presented to M.Sc. Andrea Matijević and M.Sc. Nenad Spasojević, while the Charter for Lifetime Achievement was received by Dr. Momčilo Subotić and Dr. Dragan Marković. Also, the Certificate of Appreciation for success and quality in administrative work was received by Dr. Miroslav Kotevski.
This event was not only marked by the award ceremony, but also reminded of the importance of cooperation with different institutions and experts, confirming that progress in the field of political science depends on joint efforts, research and knowledge exchange. On this occasion, the Institute not only celebrated the successes of the previous year, but also laid the foundations for future work, continuing to contribute to the creation of new ideas and solutions to current challenges.
