About the book
This book is one of the rare and extremely valuable fruits of Belarusian-Serbian scientific cooperation in the field of social sciences, the result of many years of work and a deep analysis of the events that took place on the territory of Belarus during World War II. It faithfully presents human losses, material and spiritual damage, as well as Belarusian heroes in the struggle for liberation, especially the people's partisan movement. Finally, a review of the liberation of Yugoslavia and the Belarusian fighters who participated in it is given.
The book is not a multidimensional scientific research in the traditional sense, but is based on newly studied extensive archival material and reliable historical facts. The author sought to fill the gaps in illuminating the most important events of that time that have not yet been fully reflected in historical literature.
During the years of World War II, the Belarusian people went through the most difficult trials, facing occupation, destruction and mass casualties. However, despite all the difficulties, they managed to show courage and perseverance, defending their country and their freedom. The book examines in detail the key moments of this period: military actions on the territory of Belarus, the participation of Belarusians in the European Resistance movement and their contribution to the victory over fascist Germany and its allies. Special attention is paid to the methods of state management in wartime conditions, the peculiarities of international relations and the role of Belarus in the creation of the United Nations. An important aspect is also the illumination of the participation of Belarusians in the fight against militaristic Japan in 1945.
The book is intended for those who want to understand the events of the past and their impact on modernity. The author hopes that the presented materials will help you realize the importance and significance of those events that had a huge impact on the formation of the national consciousness of the Belarusian people.
