SERBIAN LANGUAGE CUP
Petrović, Dragoljub. 2023. The Cup of the Serbian Language. Belgrade: Institute for Political Studies. ISBN 978-86-7419-376-1
About the book
The modern Serbian language was founded by the efforts of Vuk Karadžić during the second decade of the 19th century. All efforts to destroy the Serbian ethnic space and the Serbian ethnic corpus began with the destruction of the Serbian language and its script.
In our society, one can easily obtain the highest knowledge and honors in the political, scientific and cultural hierarchy even when one speaks and writes poorly. So why bother with the language if you can be a minister and an academician without it. Illiterate books are printed and sold (at high prices) in large numbers across the country every day. These books easily find reviewers and publishers in our country.
The system of our social and cultural values is in crisis. It is clear that in the conditions of a pronounced, highly branched subculture, where comics and entertaining novels, bad films (of violence, horror and horror) prevail among readers and audiences over masterpieces of literature and cinema, even the language has nothing to look for.
